Even though most of my weddings have been postponed to later in the year or next year, I’m really loving these micro weddings. I selfishly love them because I get more time with just the bride and groom. But I am still so missing the big celebrations and can’t wait to get back to them.
Rachel and Ramesh were married in April. Postponing their wedding to another date entirely was just out of the question for them. So many logistics had to go in to it, one of them being Ramesh would’ve had to go back to India while they waited to get married. And they are moving to India very soon.
I’ve known Rachel for a while. We went to the same two churches together. One was in DC and the other in Alexandria. It was so amazing to see God bless her with such a sweet guy. They were absolutely head over heels excited to get married. It was such a privilege to photograph the beginning of their marriage.
One part of this COVID weddings that is really sweet is the drive-by receptions. Rachel and Ramesh had one in the church parking lot just after the ceremony. The joy, love and encouragement their guests gave them was eye-watering. Seriously, I had to wipe away some tears. Man, I love my job.
