Can the weather just agree to NOT rain the rest of wedding season, please? May was the worst month for all the May brides. It seemed as though it rained EVERY weekend. But, that didn’t stop those couples from enjoying the most amazing day of their lives.
And this was true for Cara and Josh too! Cara and Josh got married at Airlie in Warrenton, VA. It’s such a gorgeous venue filled with lush greenery and secret gardens. So perfect for weddings. The day started out so gorgeous and sunny, but then gave way to a few storms while the girls were getting ready. Thankfully, there wasn’t a full blown shower, but just some sprinkles and the outside ceremony went on as planned.
Cara and Josh opted not to do a first look and man, it was just so so so sweet watching Josh watch his bride come down the aisle. He had all the bridesmaids in tears…and to be honest, I was tearing up a bit too. Cara was giggly and SO excited to marry her man while she was getting ready. I just loved all the organic reactions while she put on her dress. And her girls were the best girls to have around on a wedding day. They were excited and so helpful and even teared up during portraits a few times.
Thankfully, the rain stopped just after the ceremony and we were able to do all the bridal party and bride + groom pictures outside as planned. Airlie gave for stunning backdrops including their spanish steps.
I’m just so thankful I got to be a part of their day. They were so sweet and so easy to photograph…I mean, Josh was the KING of nuzzling and fanning out Cara’s dress.
Enjoy getting to know their story through the pictures below. Seriously, they are both so stunning and so sweet and so in love. They made my job so easy.
Thanks for letting me a part of your story, Cara and Josh!
