Friends, last Fall I had an opportunity to attend a workshop hosted by another amazing photographer in the area Liz Fogarty. During that workshop, she taught us how to make our brands more appealing to our ideal clients, how to find our ideal clients, how to make social media work for you, posing, off camera flash, and a plethora of other amazing information. In college, I remember a teacher telling us dumb college students that we will miss learning in a classroom setting. He told us how he went to a continuing education course, and he was so excited to learn in a classroom setting again that he was furiously taking down notes. That is exactly how I felt during this workshop. I was hungry to learn more about photography and how to better take care of my clients and future clients. I often compare myself to my college years and me now. I am much more hungry for knowledge and more understanding of the hard work you MUST put in to do well. I was such a dummy in college for wasting that knowledge I was given to day in and day out. BUT, the other thing is that I LOVE learning about photography because I LOVE photography. History was fun, but it wasn’t my passion. Anyway, thanks to Liz for teaching us her knowledge in photography and business. It was definitely worth it.
If you ever have a chance to go to a workshop that specifies in your field, DO IT! It’s an investment in your business and will make you better at what you do.
As a part of the workshop, there was a dreamy styled shoot where we got to practice our skill on beautiful models, amazing cake and invitation suite, a lovely reception table set up, and the most gorgeous flowers you will ever see. All the vendors completely out-did themselves for this styled shoot.
