Hey you guuuuys,
I have a blog and a website and it’s awesome looking! Now that it’s up and running, I promise (read: try) to write more. Ya know, I used to write a lot…I used to have depth…I liked writing…
And then I had kids and my mind became mush. It became an overflowing list of things to do…change this diaper, change that diaper, now you need a bath, pick up those toys, run those errands, did I pee yet today?, clean the dishes (Cinderellie, Cinderellie!), so thinking about things to write about has been so completely last on my list of things to do. I finally changed my driver’s license over. We moved in June. I’m sure you all can relate. Even as I type this, I’m wondering who will want to read what I have to say anyway? I have big time writer’s block but they say the best thing for that is to write, write, write…so here I am.
Anyway, this isn’t a blog post to tell you about my mind just doesn’t work any more.
I wanted to introduce myself to those that don’t know me and to those that do know me but not very well. One thing you will definitely need to know is that I communicate much better through writing. If you know me IRL, you may notice that I don’t say much. That’s partly because I’m super awkward and have funny things running through my head I’m too afraid to say because you might not think it’s as funny as I do. My husband knows best, that I am much more intricate in my words through writing. So this blog may serve as 1. an outlet to think out loud and 2. to boost my photography skills.
Here’s a bit about myself: I was born and raised in Michigan. No, I don’t like snow. I get that question a lot. You’re from Michigan and you don’t like winter? Yes, it’s possible…that’s why we don’t live there. I moved to NOVA/DC area in 2005 to work as an intern for Fellowship of Christian Athletes. I lived with a wonderful family that let me live with them a year after that so I can get my feet on the ground, find a job, and move into my own place. Because of them, I now have a life in this area. I love Jesus! I love my husband. Fun fact: we met on a blind date in 2009. We got engaged in May 2010 and married in September 2010. I like to tell people that to see whet their reactions will be. We’ve been married now for 5 years. Our daughter, Eloise was born in England when we moved there in 2012/13 for Brian to get his MBA. Our son, Hudson was born this past June 2015. My kids are the best! Parenting is hard but joyful moments come more than the hard parts come. I have been doing photography since 2008 when I bought my first camera. I learned by other people’s blogs what’s the best lens to use in low-light situations, what’s the easiest and best post-processing software, and how to pose and work on my composition. I love photography! Not many people will say this, but I love the editing process. It’s when I get to make my pictures really my own and bring them a little signature piece of myself. I also love being with my couples/families on their day of their shoots. I think I end up having more fun that they do. I’m a runner, though, not in the winter (because, duh). I try to read, but really, I don’t have time for it. Brian often asks what kind of career I would have if any and I always say dancing. Man, I wish I knew how to dance! One can dream to be a ballerina one day, right? (le, sigh)
So that’s a bit about me. Thanks for reading (my one reader that I have…Brian).
I promise, promise, promise to write more.
I have big news about new Lifestyle shoots coming soon. I’m super pumped about them and it’s something that is near and dear to my heart. I will hopefully plan to announce that maybe….umm…tomorrow?! Yes, tomorrow!
Be kind!
Jenny B.
Ps. My daughter only tells me I’m pretty when I wear lipstick. Seriously.
